The Bellingham Maritime Museum
The Bellingham Maritime Museum serves to protect, preserve and celebrate the rich and exciting maritime heritage of Bellingham and the Northwest area waterways and watercraft through education, exhibition and exploration for the benefit of current and future generations.
With an emphasis on the Pacific Northwest trans-border nautical heritage shared by Washington State, British Columbia and Alaska, the Bellingham Maritime Museum is dedicated to educating current and future generations in both maritime history and recent innovations. From the Coast Salish Nations to Captain Vancouver’s explorations, from local ship builders to the boats created for our country’s defense, the museum preserves, promotes and protects this heritage and celebrates the design and technology of local watercraft.
